Punch list after closing date , they have more than 20 things to finish or repair, after 6 weeks after closing they didn’t complete the list …

I have very bad experience with Pulte . Before closing 3 days , we walk through house and we founded so many things which are not properly installed . At the day of closing , we walk again and we founded 20+ things which Pulte did not resolved till that day . THEY PROMISED TO US EVERYTHING WILL BE DONE . We make the agreement, after closing 15 days PULTE should complete the list . Today , 6 weeks after closing list is not completed, and they are apologizing all the time , with excuses and sorry for inconvenience. I can prove all calls which I made to PULTE TEAM ( more than 50 ) , emails ( ...

Disorganized process from the time of mortgage application through closing

Make sure the mortgage lender, field manager and closing agent are in communication. Ours was a case of poor communication. Spend hours during walk through to make sure the faucets and electrical components work; check proper installation of sliding doors; run sprinklers, check sewage pipes are intact otherwise sewage will flow out on the lawn. Check if tiles especially the backsplashes are properly laid out. Ours was sticking out from the wall and could not be fixed other than breaking the wall. Double check closing documents especially if you paid some items ahead of closing because it gets ...

Poor workmanship

Very well designed and functional. The only thing is that the workmanship is very poorly done, not professional workers. The paint inside is horrible, spot missing on wall, paint on the rugs, doors are so rough you can’t wash them. The grass was put on top of the sprinklers we had to dig them out. We spoke with neighbors in the community and they told us they had similar problems. For the price of these home I expected more quality work done.

Everything looks good until you close on the house

Everything seems great until about the last 1-2 weeks prior to you closing on your new home. During that time is when the inside of the house actually starts to come together. At that point you will meet with a Project Manager that will walk you around the house to mark any areas that you deem to be flawed. The majority of this is related to drywall, paint, etc. At that point they will add tape to the affected areas. Here is where the issue lies. After you spend literally 2 hours marking the whole place up, they trust and turn over the work to subcontractors that have no skin in the game. For ...

FL townhome - "sloppy" workmanship and quality control

  • Anonymous

Generally very poor finishes and workmanship. A few major faults - for example, one wall was bowed at the bottom and when it was cut open, the drywall was installed over a scrap piece of wood that fell on the floor. A wall in the bathroom that joins the shower stall is not straight. Our range had a fault at closing that made it inoperable and required it to be replaced that took almost two weeks to replace. Lots of minor finish issues - including bottom window frame leaks during heavy rain, tiles not flush in shower stall,

I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the entire process with Pulte. The home was built in poor condition. I had to submit many warranty claims. They are responsive but considering i have only been in my house a month its horrible. At closing i was given keys that didn't work. I couldn't sleep in my room for the first week due to issues that weren't taken care of. Overall if you decide to go with Pulte please inspect and follow through. If i had to do it again i would not purchase with Pulte.

For the price I paid for my brand new Pulte home, I could have bought a used house and still do the fixes that I'm doing on this one. Poor work/finish quality, even after the walk through they missed to fixed stuff (holes on walls, cracked door frames, very bad painted doors. "Construction Managers", and i put them on quote because they are more of Project Managers, they just coordinate for other vendors to do stuff, and they don't even verify the quality or the completeness of the job. The only bright spot was Tim the construction manager. He was fantastic to work with and a real professional. The subs used in our development were the worst I have seen. (This is our 3rd build - plus one rebuild after hurricanes. Paint on the floors, walls not level and/or straight, paver contractor was horrible, electrical problems throughout the house and more. I would never build with them again, nor would I recommend Pulte or their sister companies to anyone.

A painful experience, it was unorganized, and A LOT of miscommunication between EACH department making it a pain in the butt to go through. Terrible communication, they were not able to communicate with me, and terrible communication to the construction manager, customer service manager, etc. We were NOT informed when we were allowed to hire an inspector. I heard from other Pulte Homeowners that they were also not able to hire an inspector prior to closing. Super sneaky and unprofessional behavior. Starting out very discouraged with our Pulte experience. We had items that needed to be corrected that project manager said would be corrected after closing, which are still pending and he never followed up to complete tasks. Porter Potty was was placed on edge of grass asked field manager about it he said it wasn’t dead and it would come back, it didn’t, customer care said because it is grass it is not covered under warranty even though this is something that should be on the field manager. Our overall build process was honestly a nightmare. We had such high hopes knowing friends who have built with Pulte and were so happy, but our experience was quite different. If we weren't on top of things every step of the way, not really sure how the outcome would be. The quality was not there. Time frames were not met. There seemed to be no organization to when and how things were done creating chaos and rework that was redundant. Damage seemed to continually be done that was unnecessary and deliberate, some we had to take care of ourselves after moving in. We were basically our own ...

I did not have the best experience with Pulte, after signing the contract in May of 2021, with them saying we should be in by March of 2022. We did not move in until December of 2022. Waiting over 19 months for a home build in a very volatile market was not how it was supposed to be. Interest rates soared since we signed, the market slowed. Did Pulte care? Not one bit, did we get honest answers about what the delays were? Rarely, it took months for them to tell us they had issues with the previous land owner only to say our lots weren't part of that (so why the delay?). This was never ...

The home building experience was an awful process. We were watching the home be built and had to point out errors constantly to the construction team that they weren't catching. These errors included the door sizes, railing color, warped doors, bowed walls (many bowed walls) among other items. The house and lot were dirty and seemed to never be cleaned throughout the entire process until the absolute very end. The construction team seemed great to start and then stopped responding to issues that needed to be handled prior to closing. We eventually had to involve upper management which fell on ...

The only reason I purchased from Pulte is because of the floor plans and location. Aside from that expect builder grade and sloppy craftsmanship in all internal finishes. I upgraded to the gourmet kitchen package and it's been a complete disappointment. I'd had to have pulte return to fix broken cabinets, leaking plumbing connections and holes in back of cabinets. I've bought preconstruction from other home builder in the past but never have experienced such poor level of craftsmanship. The day of closing, all cabinets were missing all door knobs!! Talk about lack of attention ...

From the beginning to the end. We did not have a good experience with Pulte homes. Very very disappointing. So much misinformation and miscommunication. Pulte made promises on things that did not occur. For such a prestige’s home. Pulte did not stand up to their name. Poor quality in workmanship. Poor customer service. So many things still not fixed. Everything was rushed to build the homes. Other homeowners feel the same way.

The process of building the house was somehow smooth. Some of the materials used were not best quality (ie. wood for wall studs, gypsum boards). Even the carpenter confirmed this. The field managers relies on the contractors for supervision. The construction is in autopilot, little supervision from field managers. If you see issues during inspection make sure they are taken care before closing. After closing you have to request warranty service which will cause lots of headaches. I had window frame redone twice due to bad construction. Wall redone because of bumps on it. Door replaced ...

This purchase has been a very disappointing experience. I owned Pulte before and that's why I had some comfort purchasing another Pulte home. However, that won't happen again. My very first impression was when I walked into my master bathroom on my first day as an owner...there was urine on my toilet seat. Unbelievable.
