Nice house, great after sales service

The build process was pretty good. However, getting things truly finalized has been challenging. Little issues that we all knew needed to be fixed or corrected have taken a really long time to complete and communication on progress and status of those issues has been slow.

KB tries to make sure your very happy with your purchase. Overall the house is solid but some attention to details would make it even better.

KB has and still is delivering the home they promised to build us. We’re still in the beginning stage of ownership with them but their sales team and building manager are continuing to fulfill promised items and tasks. They are both readily available to assist with issues discovered after closing unlike so many other builders. We feel they truly want us to be completely satisfied. They have limitations due to materials/workers and have not made any false promises. We value their honesty.

Well Thad Kathy Anthony were exceptional. House buying was great. House issues are still getting fixed but they’re always on it. I’m happy with everything. They have done a good job taking care of me with my house issues. Thank you all.

The staff has great communication. And respond quickly to your issues. But th only bad note was the workers that were sent to repair/ fix the issues. Some had bad attitudes & some workers show no pride in there work & leave a mess.

We are happy with the home. However, we still have some issues with the home. Additionally, we recently found out that our property extends past the fence KB installed along the back of our property. We've learned that we need to maintain our property behind the fence, but we have no access to it. We also risk losing that portion of land we own to the neighboring development if it's not maintained properly.

Be ready ,be patient and flexible

We have been here 6 weeks and still the house is not complete. Poorest workmanship I have ever seen. Have been promised numerous times for the completion but, to no avail. Front door was to be painted completely blue which was what we had picked out in the design studio. The door is only painted blue on the outside. Paint droppings on all floors. Several closet frames are 1/2 inch different from side to side. Transition molding in kitchen is not secure. Seal on one window is coming off. Sorry we bought into this house. Walk out the back door and you roll down the hill. Not level at all.

The quality of the home overall is great! The finishing work (painting, trim work) and overall cleaning was very messy! We did a lot of work on our own to get the place in tip/top shape. As a new build we expected to move in with most everything ready to go. Our KB sales rep was very responsive and understanding.

Our home was completed ahead of schedule. Sales personnel were helpful during the process. The construction supervisors, were responsive to concerns during and after construction, and communication with them was very good. They have a challenging job, as the skill-of-the-craft is not what it used to be within the trades, so followup issues kept them quite busy.

Took 1 year and 4 months to build a basic house. Floor plans and building materials are very good. Factory built walls and floor platforms are excellent. Local subcontractors are TERRIBLE. Not only did the subs trash our tile, vinyl flooring, cabinets, and granite countertops but even after you move in they will trespass on your property, leave garbage on your lawn, and the ones who come from outside the US will harass and intimidate female members of the household who complain. Expect to be parked into your driveway by workers after you move in. We are still cleaning yard soil out of cabinets because they left doors and windows open for weeks with topsoil blowing. Even the ceiling fans were full of dirt. We had to pay to redo our tile grout as we couldn’t clean the muddy grout because a worker tracked mud everywhere on pristine tile. They laid carpet first THEN painted so we are still cleaning paint out of the carpet. No apologies from KB yet for this incredibly disrespectful behavior. Not happy to pay HOA for our “gated community “ when the gate is not working more than it does work.

3 weeks after my 10 day walk through and I’m still trying to get items fixed. Love the home. Sales was great and the construction was done on time.

At first, Kb Homes was great. So much communication. It was great. However, towards the closing, I was worried. They rushed us to close by the quarter deadline saying that they’ll fix the things later. Well, I’m still waiting: floors to be relaxed because of scratches; a fridge to be replaced because it is dented in two places; 1/4 of my sprinkler heads don’t pop up; my garage door just broke; my shutters need to be punted; and I never received my Wi-Fi AC box that I was told was standard. I’ve only lived here two weeks. Needless to say, I’m extremely disappointed. At first, I told everyone that KB was great, but now I will be sure to caution everyone. Do not do your closing until the house is exactly ready and to your satisfaction they promise to do the outstanding work necessary and never have time once they get your money you are in your own.

The long delay to get it built then the hurried rush to get it finished.

We closed at the end of August and the house still has many punch list items that have not been addressed.

Sales rep, very helpful. Several issues with home during walk through, 6 weeks ago still have not been taken care of. Workmanship terrible, last incident, Clothes rack in walkin closet fell completely off the wall. Been 10 days and no drywaller to fix the problem. Issues with monthly house payment, failed to include escrow amount in the payment.

We have had MANY issues with the house and NONE have been resolved to date!

Many problems with floors, paint, tile, cabinet and more have made what could have been a great buying experience. The home has energy saving devices and insulation that can save a lot over the years but the nagging problems that remain makes me warn people I talk with to look somewhere else. Punch list items will not be taken care of. So if you don't mind getting irritated every day when you look around at all the problems that have been ignored by KB Homes, you might like their townhomes in Ormond Beach. Couple things to think about if you look at their townhomes, the units on the outside of the street have two parking spaces in their driveway whereas the units on the inside only have one because the sidewalk is in front of the units on the inside of the street. Also, units on the outside can park in the street and partially on their lot for a third space where the units in the inside cannot again because of the sidewalk. One of those things you don't even think about until you move in and notice your neighbor across the street has 3 cars parked there and you can only park one. ... More
